THE VIDEO GAME PRODUCTION AAS DEGREE AT PARADISE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH A BROAD SET OF FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS NECESSARY FOR SUCCESS IN THE VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY. Students in the program will take introductory courses in the four key areas in game development; Audio, Coding, Game Art, and Game Writing.

After completing core requirements, student can then continue their studies in one of these areas of specialization: areas of study provide advanced study, hands-on projects and etc, in the fields of Audio and Sound Design, Coding and Scripting, Game Art, and Game Narrative.
Game Art
The Game Art specialization provides students with the skills necessary to create and design visual elements for video games. Courses in this area of specialization include Life Drawing, Digital Animation, Digital Storytelling, 3D Studio Max, Animation and Interactivity, 3D Modeling for Animation, and 3D Character Animation.
Game Narrative
The Game Narrative specialization provides students with the skills necessary to create narrative concepts in video games, which consists of the plot, atmosphere, dialogues, player choices and gameplay. Courses in this area of specialization include Introduction to Writing Poetry, Introduction to Writing Fiction, Intermediate Fiction Writing, and Introduction to Screenwriting.
Audio and Sound Design
The Audio and Sound Design specialization provides students with the skills necessary to create, design, record, mix and produce audio for video games. Courses in this area of specialization include Electronic Music, Introduction to Audio Mixing Techniques, Studio Recording and Sound Design.
Coding and Scripting
The Coding and Scripting specialization provides students with skills necessary to code and write script for video games. Courses in this area of specialization include The Electronic Game Industry, Introduction to Adobe Animate, 3D Studio Max, Object-Oriented Programming Fundamentals, Programming languages Python and Java.
